Start with the room. Measure the open drain. Then choose the material and stopper arrangement that suit your sink.
For the bathroom sink
Bathroom SinkShroom models sit inside an open drain and collect loose hair around a removable body. A fixed pop-up stopper can occupy that same space. Check how your existing stopper is removed and whether the opening underneath is clear before choosing.
- Identify the drain. Check whether it has a removable stopper, a fixed grate or a crossbar. Follow the sink manufacturer’s instructions; do not force a fixed part.
- Measure the opening. Measure across the inside of the drain opening, not the decorative metal rim or the catcher’s top.
- Check the clearance. Look for parts below the opening that could keep the catcher from sitting correctly.
- Choose the model. Ultra includes adapters for approximately 1, 1¼ and 1½ inch openings. Original models target standard 1¼ inch bathroom drains; Chrome Edition specifies 1–1.4 inch openings.

The bathroom catcher is a filter. Choose the Ultra + Stopper set if you also need a separate plug. Swap pieces as directed by the product instructions.

The included rings let you match Ultra to several bathroom drain sizes. A correct fit should be stable, with the cap accessible and water able to enter the perforations.

Kitchen SinkShroom is a basket-style strainer for food scraps. Its wider shape and raised central grip serve a different job from the bathroom hair catcher. Check the drain opening, the basket seat and any disposal splash guard before you order.
The selected kitchen models are described for standard kitchen drains, including many disposal openings. That description is not a guarantee for every fixture. If your drain has a special cover or an unusual shape, compare its measurements and manufacturer instructions with the product photographs.
Choose the strainer-only version if draining is the only job you need. Choose a set with a separate stopper if you also fill the sink for washing up. Keep the disposal switched off while removing or cleaning a strainer, and follow the appliance instructions.

After fitting: check the flow
Run the faucet briefly and check that the catcher sits securely while water drains. If it sits too high, rocks or traps water in a clean sink, stop and recheck the adapter and clearance. Do not force a fit. Keep the packaging until you are satisfied with the fit and have checked the seller’s return conditions.
